Real people needed help - and kept being told they were too complicated, too high-needs, or just not a good fit.
So we set out to change that for people.
We’re here to give nursing support and home-based care to people with disabilities and complex mental health needs. But more than that, we make sure no one is left without the help they need, no matter how complex the situation.
It’s about making sure that when someone needs support, they get it. No exceptions.
'Our clients have unique personalities, interests, and dreams. We focus on people as individuals and celebrate their successes." – Sharon
Every decision-making staff member has a close family member who has needed high-care support.
Everyone here has a reason for doing this work - because when it’s personal, it matters more.
Managing Director
Norm’s is simple: everyone deserves a fair go. He knows what it’s like to need help, and he’s built First Choice Care around the idea that when someone calls, they should get support—whether it’s Christmas morning or 3 AM on a Tuesday.
Director, Nurse
Steph grew up caring for her paraplegic brother. She gets it. The late nights, the troubleshooting when things go wrong, the moments when the system makes things harder instead of easier. She combines her nursing skills with real-life experience to make sure no one is left figuring things out alone.
Administrator
Sharon is a mum, so she understands firsthand the need for patience, understanding, and real advocacy. She’s been part of the team for years, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. She also specialises in helping people with autism.
Support Worker
Rachel is studying to become a registered nurse while juggling multiple roles at First Choice Care. She brings both professional and personal experience to her work, making sure every client gets the right support.
Chief Morale Officer
Support Team
Cassie is training to be a nurse while also working with children with Autism. Jess and Erin bring years of experience in disability support. Lived experience matters because understanding what someone is going through makes a difference in how care is provided.
Most of the people we support are NDIS participants, but we also work with TAC and aged care clients.
Our team has built a reputation for taking on the cases other providers avoid. The kind that requires patience, skill, and a whole lot of persistence.
Support coordinators call us because they know we won’t walk away when things get tough. And that’s not just talk - it’s what we’ve built our reputation on.

"Even small progress is worth celebrating. Encouragement boosts confidence." – Cassie
We’ve grown from a small team to a thriving service, but at our core, we’re still just people who care. First Choice Care started in 2020, and today we support 40 clients with a team of 60 dedicated staff.
Along the way, we’ve built strong relationships with aged care providers like Bendigo Health, Sunbury Cobaw Health, and the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre. These partnerships mean better coordination, access to specialists when needed, and the kind of advocacy that makes a real difference.
"We don’t take feedback personally - we use it to improve care and our relationships with people." – Steph
We provide a wide range of nursing support, home care, and aged care services, including:
We find the best way to support you in a way that works for you.

"Plans change. Being adaptable to a client’s mood and schedule means they feel in control of their care."

We’re not just another care provider. Here’s what makes us different:
We pick up the phone. Even in the middle of the night.
When you call, chances are you’ll speak to a nurse who knows exactly how to help.
Quality care shouldn’t be out of reach. We provide nursing services at the same rate as a support worker, making high-quality care accessible to more people.
We believe in building strong relationships - not just with our clients, but within our team.
Many of our staff have been with us for years, which means you can build trust with the same people over a long period of time.
Consistency builds trust, and trust leads to better care.
"Support isn’t just about care - it’s about enrichment, growth, and making life more fulfilling for people."

We know the communities we serve because we’re part of them.
From Melbourne’s Western and Northern areas to regional places like Bendigo, Moorabool, Hepburn, and Melton, we’re here to provide care that fits the needs of the people who live here.
We’re not here to change you.
We see what’s strong in you and help you build on it.
That’s the foundation of everything we do.
"Most often, we have the same caregiver support our client. Familiar faces help create a sense of security and ease."
– Rachael
Nathan’s Story: Supporting Sensory Regulation
Nathan, an 11-year-old NDIS participant, struggles with sensory processing.
His support team at First Choice Care introduced a structured sensory plan, using tools like a peanut ball, a chewy necklace, and quiet spaces to help with regulation.
Over time, Nathan became more engaged in activities and experienced fewer moments of distress. Small changes made a big difference.
Nathan is a hero to us in every way and we love him.

We are deeply connected to the communities we serve.
We’re not just a service provider—we’re part of the neighbourhood.
For places in the north and west of Melbourne, we provide local care for local people.
We’re based here, so we understand the challenges - and the strengths - of the people who live here.
If you or someone you know needs support, let’s talk.
Whether you need help today or just want to understand your options, we’re here to listen.
